March Birthstone - Aquamarine

Aquamarine must be one of my most favourite gemstones. Deposits naturally grow in large sizes, so the aquamarines are usually cut into bigger stones than traditional gems. They are naturally clear and come in very light blue / green to a darker blue.

Meaning "seawater" in Latin, the aquamarine is said to be a calming influence and allegedly has an ability to enhance happy marriages! I love the big oval and pear shapes which sparkle beautifully and are much more affordable than other gemstones for their size.

They're also pretty durable so can be worn without too much worry. I wish my birthday was in March!! My favourites at the moment include:
